8B QD Bushed Sheaves Pulleys for "A" and "B" Belts
The 8B series pulleys are suitable for A, AX, AA, 4L, B, BX, BB and 5L v-belts with diameters ranging from 5.75 "to 38.35". Depending on the pulley size, they can be used with SD, SK, SF or E QD bushings, which we also have in stock. Most of our eight groove 8B QD bushing pulleys are made of high strength grade 35 cast iron, coated with phosphate and painted for corrosion protection. All these are balanced at the factory to ensure smooth operation of the machine. The main advantage of using QD (quick detachable) pulleys is that if the bushing (hub) is broken, the entire assembly does not need to be replaced, or if only the pulley is worn, the same principle applies. Another significant advantage is that compared with the "fixed hole" type, the QD pulley has a wider range of hole options.

Standard installation of QD casing
*Just make sure that the tapered cone area of the bushing and the inside of the pulley are free of dirt.
*Now install the QD bushing in the pulley or QD product, aligning it with the clearance hole in the product, while installing the threaded hole in the bushing.
*Place the hand lock washer and cap screw through the upper pull hole.
*Make sure that the bushing is fully expanded to ensure a sliding fit on the shaft. Now fit the slider onto the shaft, provided that the head of the cover screw is outside.
*Now place the assembly on the shaft for precise alignment of the drive. Tighten the cap key with the help of an Allen wrench. Avoid using excessive force.
*It is time to alternately tighten the cap screws and gradually tighten to a specific torque. The ideal distance between these two segments is 1/8 to ¼ Inch to ensure optimum cone grip and maintain a press fit. Do not allow the pulley to contact the flange of the bushing.
Note: After installing QD bushing, do not forget to fill the gap to avoid dust.
Disassembly process
*Remove the cap screws and gradually place them in the threaded holes of the pulley against the flange of the QD bushing until the clamp of the bushing is released.
*Now loosen the set screw and take out the assembly from the shaft. You have completed the uninstallation process.
NOTE: The use of lubricants or any type of anti seize element or tapered face, or even bolt threads, may damage the pulley. Avoid this situation.
